Victoria Close | Bikudesigns | Tokyo, Japan
Victoria is the founder of Bikudesigns, a vintage kimono accessories brand in Tokyo, Japan.
She has been a full-time small business owner since 2015 and has had side businesses for more than 30 years.
In a previous life Victoria was a primary school teacher for 17 years before feeling the pull of being a creative business founder.
Victoria is a passionate campaigner for creative small businesses, particularly those in the handmade space and is on a mission to help small business owners avoid overwhelm by teaching practical skills to prioritise growth.
Alex Morrow | Turquoise Port | Auckland, New Zealand
Alex is the founder of Turquoise Port, a home decor brand with a 5 year retail presence in Tokyo, Japan.
As an eternal immigrant & expat, she has worked her way through a range of industries spanning 7 countries on 3 continents: banking & finance, government entities & NPOs. She also wrote content for a magazine and ran a Chamber of Commerce before starting Turquoise Port.
Alex has long been a supporter of anything small business and having just moved to New Zealand for the second time, loves the range of small businesses she is currently discovering in her new old home.
